So...this weekend was the first Swim Bike Mom Traincation!

Gran Fondo Italia (not Italy but Roswell, GA)

This past weekend was our absolute first exercise since finishing Augusta 70.3. So what did we do? Run a 10K? Run a 5K? Nope. Signed up to do a 106 mile bike ride when the most we have ever done was about 60ish, in our lives EVER. So it was very fortunate for us that we were able to switch to the 64 mile ride at packet pick up!! Once again I was doubting my sanity at the prospect of getting up butt ugly early on a weekend to go ride my bike with a bunch of complete strangers. I didn't have it...

Augusta 70.3 Race Report Continued (Actual Race Report)

So..up at 3:20 am. Finally got out of bed and into the shower at 4:15. I know...why do I need to shower when I am about to spend most of the day sweating? Tried to eat my PB and Nutella sandwich but it was stale and I was too wired to eat it. So I drank the Ironman provided RedBull..cuz I just wasn't jacked up enough ha ha. Drank a Oh Yeah! protein drink and we loaded up and took the school bus down to transition. Set up our stuff, pumped up our tires and hopped back on the bus...

Augusta 70.3 Race Report

So Where to begin this race report?

I got my boot off from my recovering plantar fascia rupture earlier this week. And so while I got the clearance to walk..not to run. So what a crazy week this has been! Many weeks ago, Meredith Atwood, the original Swim Bike Mom, who I have been following since I became what my sister would call a Tri-head, held application submission for the first Swim Bike Mom Ambassador Team.
